Chelsea Piers Connecticut Expands Girls Leadership Camp Program To Include Field Hockey And Lacrosse

(Stamford, CT – August 1, 2017) – Chelsea Piers Connecticut is proud to announce the expansion of Girls Leadership Camp to include Field Hockey and Lacrosse. In its fifth year, the week-long program running August 14th through the 18th, already includes ice hockey, volleyball and soccer. This innovative week-long camp provides female high school athletes with a unique opportunity to develop their individual athletic skills, while also arming them with the tools they need to become strong leaders in all areas of their lives.
Athletes in all five sports participate in daily high-level sport training as well as conditioning on and off the playing surface. In addition to learning from top-level coaches, athletes do daily team building exercises and participates in discussions on nutrition, leadership and health.
Athletes are challenged on and off the playing surface. They participate in team building exercises to develop the six leadership principles — wisdom, courage, vision, passion, generosity and trust. Through a series of mentally and physically challenging tasks and exercises, athletes learn cross-functional teamwork and collaboration, leadership without authority techniques, positive communication, assertive decision-making and more.
Athletes also attend health and nutrition training seminars for peak performance led by Dr. Jo Hannifan from Hospital for Special Surgery and Amy Gross, an elite athlete turned performance coach and counselor.

This camp mimics that training a wonderful one week immersive program that demonstrates the same CP360 philosophy.”
