Chelsea Piers Connecticut Announces Head Volleyball Coach

June 21, 2018

(Stamford, CT – June 21, 2018) – Chelsea Piers Connecticut is proud to announce that Kevin Marino has taken on the role as Head Volleyball Coach.  Kevin has been an important member of the Chelsea Piers’ team, and a coach for the CPAC Volleyball program for the past two years.  During the 2016-2017 season Kevin coached the 17 Regional Team and assisted the 18 National Team; this past winter Kevin was the Head Coach of the 18 National Team.

Kevin is currently the Head Girls Volleyball Coach at New Canaan High School.  In Kevin’s first season at New Canaan High School the girls made their first state tournament appearance in three years, and their first FCIAC tournament appearance in six years.  Marino is also the Assistant Coach at Joel Barlow for both the boys’ and girls’ programs.  Under his guidance, the Joel Barlow girls team has won four consecutive SWC Championships – the boys won in 2016 and 2017, and were state finalists in 2015 and 2016. Kevin will continue in these positions in addition to overseeing the program at Chelsea Piers.  Kevin is a native of Redding, CT, and attended Joel Barlow High School.  He was an outside hitter and named All-SWC First Team in 2010 and 2011.

The 2017/18 season Head Coach, Ana Pego, plans to continue to coach for CPAC Volleyball in the upcoming season and is the newly appointed Head Coach at the University of New Haven.

“We wish Ana well in her new position and are very happy she will continue to be a part of the team,” commented Greta Wagner, Executive Director, Chelsea Piers Connecticut.   “Our Volleyball leadership team is already working hard planning next season and will deliver a first-class experience to all players, parents and coaches.  We are excited about the summer volleyball program and hope to see many of you on the court and in our off-season strength and conditioning program.”
