“Fitness constantly reminds me that I am so much stronger than I think I am, and I take that lesson with me whenever I’m faced with a challenge.” – Brooke Mullen
Brooke Mullen joined as our Lead Breakaway Indoor Cycling instructor a few months back, and has big plans to take our program to new heights.
- Tell us how your career and personal fitness brought you to be the Lead Breakaway Cycling Instructor here at Chelsea Piers Fitness!
My background is in sports as well as theatre. Because of that, it is very important to me to bring an entertainment factor into class while also delivering a body-changing workout that has a big influence and emphasis on athleticism.
- Our Breakaway Indoor Cycling program has already launched to great success with our member base. What other plans do you have to bring this program to new heights?
Breakaway is quite challenging at its core simply because of the way the bikes work. My goal is to take a very effective workout and make it fun and challenging in a way that leaves the member feeling not only successful but inspired to go further. So far, members truly love our Coach By Color system because it is such a unique and intuitive way to motivate during a ride. Since members can tangibly track their progress and ride at their own individual fitness level, it has the potential to produce incredible results.
- How does fitness play a part in your life, both in the past and present?
I grew up as a competitive gymnast and dancer. I also played softball, ran track and field, and in general was a very active kid. I have ADHD, and athletics taught me focus and discipline.
Fitness constantly reminds me that I am so much stronger than I think I am, and I take that lesson with me whenever I’m faced with a challenge.
