National Youth Sports Week 2024

National Youth Sports Week (NYSW) is an annual event that celebrates the importance of youth sports in promoting physical fitness, teamwork, and personal development.

NYSW is a great opportunity to celebrate the energy and enthusiasm that young people bring to sports Afterschool sports programs, for example, offer a chance for kids to stay active and learn valuable skills like teamwork and discipline in a fun, structured environment while building long-lasting friendships and social skills.

Join us this year from September 23 - September 28, 2024. Celebrate with us and help advocate the importance of youth sports this year with Chelsea Piers by participating in daily themed activities. We are proud to share the value of youth sports to athletes of all ages, skill sets, and backgrounds. From preschoolers to competitive high school and collegiate athletes, we have a program for everyone.

Monday, September 23 – Opening Day

Start off National Youth Sports week with your favorite action photo of your sports team, past or present!

Chelsea Piers Sky Rink’s Assistant Skating Director, Maurie Moore’s favorite afterschool memory was “being able to look forward to going to the rink every day and seeing the girls who were like sisters to me! Remembering traveling for 11 years for competitive figure skating are memories I’ll cherish forever”

Let’s see you in action kicking a soccer ball, running along the track, skating on the ice and more.

Friday, September 27 – National Coaches Day

Coach Will’s favorite coaches helped him find his love for the game of soccer. “One of my coaches, Graham Stevenson, was an exceptionally good coach. What he really did for me was introduce the fun of the game, making every experience on the court fun from a young age.” Coach Will is now the Director of Squash at Chelsea Piers Connecticut.
