Preparing for the Holidays
November 3, 2021
The holiday season is supposed to be full of joy, laughter, and making memories with family and friends... So, why can it also be incredibly stressful? We came up with a few ideas to make this holiday season just a bit more peaceful.
1. Maintain a Routine
Quality time with friends and family is so important, especially during the holidays, and especially this year, when so many of us have been deprived of large gatherings! Keep up with a small part of your routine while you are away on vacation or hosting family in your home. Don’t put too much pressure on yourself - it doesn't have to be perfect (in fact, you don’t even have to break a sweat to feel the effects of a good workout). Try one of our 10 or 20 minute Workouts or this collection of No-Equipment Workouts on Chelsea Piers Play to keep up with your goals on the go.
If you need help creating your complimentary member account on Chelsea Piers Play, email play@chelseapiers.com or stop by the front desk.
Spending time with kids this holiday season? We have videos for that too! We have tons of Kid-Friendly Workouts on Chelsea Piers Play to keep everyone entertained and healthy.
2. Start Holiday Shopping Early
Keep your thoughts organized by creating lists of everyone you want to shop for, whether it’s in your notes app on your phone, or on a good old fashioned pen and paper. Then start your research:
- Find ways to shop local
- Search around on Pinterest for unique gift ideas
- Attend our Holiday Sip and Shop event this December (more details to come later this month!)
Slowly chip away at your list of who to shop for, and Mid-December you will thank you!
3. Meditate
Start incorporating a meditation practice into your daily routine. Even just a few minutes a day can make a huge difference.

4. Treat Yourself
Do something for yourself that makes you happy. Need a little inspiration?
- Book your favorite class at the club
- Read a book that you’ve had your eye on
- Buy yourself your favorite holiday treat
- Relax with a massage at the club (visit or call the front desk to set up your massage session)
