Start Fresh for Spring

March 3, 2022

New Year’s Resolutions are great… but we like any excuse to Start Fresh. Spring is the perfect opportunity to reevaluate your goals and priorities. Here are just a few ways to feel a little more refreshed and motivated for Spring!

You are doing amazing sweetie.

Start with the Positives

Look back at the last few months and evaluate what’s going well. That extra hour of sleep making the morning easier? Keep it up! Focusing on the positives is a great way to start your internal “spring cleaning” process. Don’t forget to reward yourself for the little things! Made it to the gym for your goal number of times this week? Treat yourself to that oat milk latte, or that Korean face mask that’s been hiding in your medicine cabinet. Rewarding yourself and acknowledging your progress will help you stay on top of your goals.

Clean your Home(s)

Spring Cleaning is common for a reason. Take the opportunity to clean that one spot in your apartment…you know the one! Make it fun by blasting your favorite album, audio book or binge a new podcast.

In addition to your physical home, take some time to clean up your digital home as well - this means cleaning your inbox, deleting old apps you’re not using, etc. Learn more about how to do a full digital cleanup here!

If you’re feeling overwhelmed, try taking a quick “box breathing” break. This simple technique can help you focus and feel more relaxed in just a few seconds. Here’s how to try it yourself:

  • Step 1: Take a deep breath in through your nose while counting to 4.
  • Step 2: Hold your breath for 4 seconds. Try to avoid inhaling or exhaling for those 4 seconds.
  • Step 3: Slowly exhale through your mouth for 4 seconds.
  • Step 4: Repeat steps 1 to 3 until you start to feel a bit more calm.
