CHELSEA PIERS CONNECTICUT TO OFFER TEEN BOXING AND YOGA TRAINING SERIES

(Stamford, CT – February 26, 2015) – Chelsea Piers Connecticut is proud to announce the expansion of its fitness programming for teens. Unveiled in February, a comprehensive six-week program focusing on the development of boxing and yoga skills will be available to those ages 12 through 15.  

Through the program, teens will improve their focus, balance, hand eye coordination, timing, footwork, strength and conditioning, flexibility and self-confidence. The progressive program will meet two days per week from 4:00p.m. to 5:00p.m. The program will consist of boxing stance and balance, footwork, jump rope skills, punching form and technique, focus mitt drills, heavy bag drills and yoga stretches.

Ahmad Mickens, an accomplished boxing coach, will oversee the program. Mickens is an inspired fitness professional and philanthropist dedicated to empowering clients to achieve their personal best through individually focused sports training and coaching. With over 18 years of coaching experience, Mickens has successfully partnered with hundreds of clients to achieve their desired levels of personal health and fitness.  His clients’ successes include: Golden Glove Titles, a U.S.A. Boxing National Title, multiple 5K’s and half marathons, amateur bodybuilding competitions, Tough Mudder competitions and countless other personal goals.
