Fifth annual Girls Leadership Summit held

NORWALK — Middle school girls gathered at Chelsea Piers on Wednesday for Fairfield County’s Community Foundation’s fifth annual Girls Leadership Summit.

At the summit, they addressed preconceived notions about leadership, listened to speakers including Patti Russo of the Women’s Campaign School at Yale University, attended a communication workshop, and participated in gymnastics, trampoline and rock climbing activities.

“In order to assure confident female leaders of tomorrow, we must first focus on the development of healthy and strong girls,” Russo said during her keynote presentation.
