For this customer spotlight, Club Solutions sat down with Ann Marie Miller, USA Cycling Level 2 Licensed Coach, ACSM (HFI) at Chelsea Piers Fitness, to share her experiences partnering with KORR:
 

Why did you decide to partner with KORR over other companies?

We chose the KORR CardioCoach CO2 because it provides resting metabolic rate assessments, as well as exercise VO2 testing, and shows the total calories as well as the percentages of calories coming from fats and carbohydrates during exercise. Another advantage is that the unit is portable and can be mounted on a cart and moved around the facility to use in different locations with various pieces of cardio equipment. It is user-friendly and produces reports that are easy for members to understand.
 

How has your business benefited from KORR?

We can use the information to understand our member’s current fitness level more precisely and establish accurate individual heart rate and power or pace training zones. Our facility is a USA Triathlon designated regional training center, and to earn that designation, we needed to offer exercise testing as well as facilities to train for triathlons. The KORR CardioCoach CO2 testing allows us to determine the number of calories a member needs to maintain, lose or gain weight to reach their goals. This is a profit center for our facility and our new marketing and social media staff are working to promote our physiological testing. The test results can also be used to drive personal training for improved fitness or weight management.
 

What are the benefits to your members as a result of this partnership?

Our members get accurate information regarding their cardiovascular fitness and resting metabolic rate, which helps them set individual heart rate and power or pace training zones, and establish their caloric requirements for weight management. Our members can follow up with subsequent tests to monitor their progress in their training.
